Catchin’ Up

Realized I never posted our pics from picking out our tree. We have the most beautiful tree from Reichen Tree Farm. We had a little help from Grant…the owners’ grandson and the son of some good friends…So, the third walking boy you see is him…we’re not adding more boys :)

This is my favorite tree we’ve ever had. It fits the space perfectly in the family room and it’s just fabulous!

And here it is all decorated :

We also put up our little fake tree in the play room so the kids could put their ornaments and stuff on there.

Here is their tree:

We are ready for Christmas..have been since the day after Thanksgiving. The presents are all wrapped and under the tree. All the nativity sets are up, the advent calendar is in use and we are eagerly awaiting this weekend when we pack food boxes for our Food & Toy program!

We always get our tree the day or 2 after Thanksgiving..mostly because we are gone sometime over the holiday and want to have as much time with it as possible.  Since I was born, I have gotten a new ornament from my parents each year. Plus, we always received one a year from good friends in Michigan. Now, with 5 of us receiving and ornament a year from my parents, our trees are filling up quick. It’s super cute though to see the boys open up their boxes and remember when they were given each ornament they put up. Our other “special” thing we do is: the first night we put the tree up we sit by the lights with all other lights off, sip hot cider and sing Christmas songs by the tree. It’s my boys’ favorite part of the whole experience.

When do you put your tree up?

What family traditions do you have?

LOVELY tree! Ours looks very similar :) We had a great family time as well going to fetch our Christmas tree...and only two ornament casualties so far!
